Weekend Wrap-up

We had a busy weekend! Friday we had a swim party for the vacation bible school they attended last week. Saturday we had friends and family over for a fish fry. Then today we headed over to the lake for some fishing and swimming. Ahhhh summer!!!

Peter Pan!!

Each year the civic theater in our community puts on a Peter Pan play. The cast is mainly comprised of younger children, with a few adults sprinkled in.  Landon was chosen as the part of John in the play. I was so proud of him!!! He is a natural up on stage.

Thursday and I'm Thankful

It's Thursday, which during the summer is my Friday. It's been a fast and furious week with getting home Sunday from the River, working Monday, then packing up and going to a two day conference in Austin for work. Then tonight it's working at the restaurant, tomorrow and Saturday Landon is in the production of Peter Pan, and then Sunday I'm working at the restaurant again, and going straight from there to Landon's final performance and cast party.

Tomorrow I hope to sleep in some, clean a little, take the kiddos swimming, and then rest before the performance. I'm thankful that Landon is enjoying being in the play, and I can't wait to see it performed! I used to do plays for our civic theater and in One Act Play in high school, so this brings back a lot of fond memories.

I'm thankful that the pool is finally ready at the country club so I can meet my girls there Saturday afternoon so we can talk and hang out while my kiddos play in the water. So excited about that!!

I'm excited and thankful over a decision I've made, and yes a little sad too. I've decided to quit working at my second job so I can spend more time with my family. I absolutely have a blast with the people I work with at Circle T Steakhouse, and they are so much fun, but I'm excited to not have to rush home on certain nights of the week to get changed, go back to work, and then be away from my kiddos and hubby for 6 more hours. Or miss church on Sunday mornings to work buffet. I'm sad to leave these people that I really like, but so ready to get back to being with my family.


I'm thankful that I have a job that I have two weeks off this summer to hang out with my kiddos. Sleeping in, swimming, maybe going to see a movie or two, and VBS at our church that I get to help out with this year. :)

Here's to summer!!!

River Time 2013

We has a blast this weekend. We went with a group of friends for an adults only weekend floating the Guadalupe River. We go with a great group that are so nice and friendly; we all go to hang out and enjoy each others company. We went out to eat Friday night, floated the river and played games Saturday, plus got ice cream off the ice cream truck, and then came home Sunday. It was a much needed break and we enjoyed it!!

 

Father's Day 2013

Father's Day is always bittersweet for me because I lost my dad when I was 17. He was an awesome man who laughed often, loved us so much, and loved great music.  

Now I have my hubby who is an awesome father to our two kiddos. I couldn't ask for a better guy! I love him so!!

Friends swimming!! Love summer!!

A Few Things...

Summer has started fast and furious. Landon has play practice during the afternoons for a community theater production and it seems like daily they want to go swimming!! Swimming with friends, playing with friends, camp-outs, and it's not even a week into summer!!

This weekend Damon went camping with Landon and some friends. There were 3 adult men for 10 boys ranging  in ages. Damon, Clint, and Aaron, you are really brave is all I have to say! They had a blast hunting targets, swimming, hunting for arrowheads, and normal campout stuff.

While the boys were off Miss Emma and I went on a girls day with my mom to go shopping for groceries. We first stopped at the Donut Shop and ate breakfast, took breakfast out to Damon, and then went shopping. We grocery shopped, went to McDonald's and wound up stopping at the Dutchman Hidden Valley on our way home for some homemade chocolate treats and Jelly Belly jelly beans. (PS the Sea Salt Caramel Candy is AMAZING or wondruful as Emma says).

This weekend we are celebrating and going out with several friends of ours! I can't wait!!

Summer is Here!!!

This weekend kicked off summer even if Landon has a day and a half of school left. We went to Legoland Discovery Center and went to the pool on Sunday to hang out with friends. It's been a busy weekend, but we've had so much fun!!

And then we had swimming on Sunday.
