Coming home

This week I was privileged to participate bringing a soldier home that was killed in action. I didn't know the young man, however, hundreds of people from our town lined the streets waving the american flags as he passed. It was an awe inspiring moment & made me very proud of my community.

Father's day

For Father's day we did something different & went & visited both of our fathers. My father passed away in 1998 & Damon's passed away 2 years ago. We had a great day with the family.

Fabulous Friday

Just a quick little blog post then I gotta get back to work.

I am cleaning house and doing homework on my Friday off. Kids are at the babysitters for the day so I can cram a bunch of stuff into one day in order to go play tonight. Yes, I kind of feel like a kid again, I have to get all my chores done so I can go play.  :)

This week has flew by and it's been crazy, working, swimming with kiddos, having water balloon fights, fitting in laundry and trying to cram homework in as well. Speaking of, I better get back to if I want to go play tonight. We are taking the kids swimming again tonight and gonna hang out with some of our friends. Can't wait!!

Weekend wrap-up

Time for the weekend wrap-up..

Friday I helped decorate for our VBS at church & then studied. That evening we had the house all to ourselves & went to bro-&-Sis in laws where the guys cooked us dinner while the girls set in the pool. It was a pretty good night.

Saturday we hung out at the house & took the kids swimming. It was a fun time. Playing in the water was a blast with the kiddos. Today we went to church & the message was great. Then my mom came over &
We addressed invites for my grandma's 80th bday party in a few weeks. A quick workout & some more studying & our weekend is winding down.

Prayers this week goes well ;)

Reading time

Tonight we started reading before miss e went to bed. There's nothing like your little girl trying to read the book to you by just telling you what the pictures are.

I'd have to say this week has gone good. Spent our 8th anniversary at the country club with the kids, swimming, & hanging out with sis-&-bro in laws. It was a great time. :)

Oh what a week

I haven't written all week because Mr L was put in the hospital late Wednesday night. He was running a high fever & has some sort of bacterial infection. Thanks to many prayers my boy is out today. I'm so thankful for my family today.

Makes it All Seem So Small

Lord,
This weekend you called one of your young angels back home. A boy only a year older than my dear son was called home to be with you unexpectedly. I can't even imagine what his family feels right now. I do not know them, but the thought of losing your child rips my heart in two. Lord I pray for them during this time, I know they are searching for why, and their grief is immeasurable. Lord, wrap your arms around them and speak your words of healing into their heart. No words we speak can comfort them, but you know what to say to help them pick up the pieces of their hearts and start mending them back together.

This makes everything I worry about seem so small & trivial. Lord today I'll hug my kids a little more, kiss them, and tell them I love them just one more time. I'll read the story one more time, and listen more when they tell me a story. Lord I'll hold my husband's hand while sitting on the couch watching a movie, tell him I love him before hanging up the phone, I'll thank him for being a wonderful father. Call my mom and grandma and tell them I love them and thanks for all they did.

If you read this, please say a prayer for this family in our community. And hug those you love...one more time..
