Cub Scouts Trout-O-Ree

This Saturday we took some of the boys to a local Boy Scout camp for a fishing tournament. We had a blast! The boys got to fish with their dads and hang out with friends.

We also received several awards. Damon & Landon received second place for the most weight of fish. Davin received 1st place & Landon received 2nd place for the heaviest weight of fish. And Justin received an award for smallest fish.

Many of the boys have said they had fun. I hope so, it was fun spending time with the boys, especially my boy.

Fun times!!

Oh how we love our crazy life!!

This  weekend Damon had a hunt and Landon was invited to spend the night with some friends. So Emma invited her friend over and we had a girls night Friday night. We watched Netflix and hung out.

Saturday was another basketball game. We played a great team and won!! It was so exciting!

Then Saturday night we went to a family get together. It was a late Christmas family gathering. We roasted marshemallows, ate, laughed, and had a blast.

Yesterday was scouts and since we are taking the boys fishing this weekend we went over the rules and regulations and how to bait a hook. I think fun was had by all!

Week Wrap-up

This week has been good and a blur!

Monday was Scouts, with Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. And then basketball practice.

Tuesday and Wednesday were blessedly quiet nights. Although we had a little trouble getting motivated to get out of bed.

Thursday was tumbling class and more practice. Friday was date night of dinner and grocery shopping. Ahhh how date nights have changed!!

Saturday was busy with Emma's tumbling meet. She did so well! She won third place in her group for tumbling and second in trampoline.

Then we rushed home for Landon's first basketball game. The boys lost but played an awesome game!! It was neat to see how the boys have grown and learned over the past year.

Then today it was church, and Emma's sixth birthday party with her friends.

Hope everyone has a blessed week!!

Oh Monday's!!

Today was absolutely crazy but good. It was our first day back at school and work from Christmas break. We had cub scouts, girl scouts, basketball practice, and supper with the family.

Emma was adorable and helped Damon haul in some firewood. She just jumped up and started hauling the wood in.

Landon was praying tonight and asked God for no more wars and for people
To get along. Out Of the mouth of babes......

Several times today I reminded myself that these hectic days won't last forever and I'll want my babies back home. That made me smile and put things in perspective.

Someday I'll miss these crazy days....

Happy First Week of 2014!

Well the first few days of 2014 are done. I say it like it is an end because I work at a school which allows me the luxury to be off when my kids are off most of the time.  So we've had a full two week break together.

I've felt a bit guilty these past two weeks because other than a few things that I cleaned, laundry, and visiting family for the holidays, we did a whole lotta nothin'. I was telling my mom this and she said, "It's probably good for you, because a lot of the time, you keep going and going."  And it's true, since the kids are involved in sports, tumbling, scouts, church...our weekdays and weekends fill up pretty quickly. So it was good for all of us to just have a small break where the season isn't quite so busy.

I guess you could say the last two weeks was our "day of rest" so to speak.  The Bible states over and over again the importance of rest and being alone. From God resting the seventh day, to Jesus going to be by himself to pray.  I might need to encourage more days of rest for us in the future.

Hope the first full week of 2014 brings many blessings and our loved ones closer together.

Blessings to you all!!

New Year's Eve 2013

We live in a small town, so we celebrate New Year's Eve in typical small town fashion, around a bonfire.

It was simple and fun, just family and a few friends talking and laughing.  We listened to music and laughed as we rang in 2014.
