Oh baseball!!

Today we had Emma's t-ball game & Landon's baseball game back to back. Then they both play one more game this weekend. It's been crazy busy with practices & church functions & work. I'd like one day to do nothing! I'm sure other moms don't feel the same. (rolling my eyes)

I'd love to slow this time down & savor it. Watching Emma & her teammates play T-ball is so much fun! Today her coach picked her up & carried her from where she was to where she needed to be. The whole crowd got a good chuckle.

Landon's team lost. The boys made some mistakes, but the other team was GOOD, & we just let it get away from us. But I can see definite improvement in the boys from game to game.

Well I think I'll call it a night, this momma is worn out!!

Blessed Sunday

I got up early to have a little quiet time with the Lord and take advantage of the quiet house. Needless to say with my two little early birds, it didn't last long.

It is a cool, rainy Sunday morning here in Texas. We are blessed with a house that was designed before air conditioning and designed to make the most of it. I have our windows open to let in the cool fresh air, as well as the soothing sounds of the rain as it drips off our roof. After last year's awful drought rain is still a much needed answer to prayers around here. It is absolutely amazing how quickly nature bounces back from its trials.

God designed us that way too although we often become our own worst enemy. Take for example a grass fire, although it is destructive and deadly at times, it is also a way of cleansing out the land of underbrush and weeds to let the good grass grow. There have been several times I've passed a field that has been burnt to see bright green grass among the charred landscape. This happens to us as well. How often does life "burn" us, and instead of learning from the experience and grow new life from it. Instead we wallow in self-pity or doubt and don't look to God to help us through these times.

I've felt here lately that we've been going through a slow-burning wildfire that has charred several things about my life. My emotions, time, energy, and other things have left me drained. I need to take advantage of the renewal of the fire that cleansed me, and look to the "rain" of God to bring new life to me as well.

Fabulous Friday

Yes it's been Friday the 13th but it really hasn't been unlucky.

My babysitter has been really sick with some upper respiratory crud, and she is getting better daily. Prayers are working :)

Had a pretty productive day at work,  although I felt like sitting at my desk and sleeping for a few hours.

My mom-in-law came over for a chat after work and we laughed and joked for awhile.

One of my best friends since grade school has moved back into town with her family. We went over and the kids played together while I helped her unpack. We laughed and had a blast.

Turned in my comprehensive exam for my Masters class earlier in the week. I have to pass it in order to graduate in a few semesters. Crossing my fingers that Monday the 23rd I'll get my test back with an acceptable rating on all four sections meaning I'll be good to graduate as long as I keep my grades up.

Tomorrow Miss E has her first t-ball game. :) So I guess I better get to working on my homework so I can enjoy the game tomorrow.

Have a blessed weekend!!
