A New Way of Looking At It

"Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple, and that God's spirit lives in you." 1 Corinthians 3:16

"For we are God's fellow workers, you are God's field, God's buildings." 1 Corinthians 3:9

"For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians  3:11

I am struggling with my resolve to lose weight and be healthier. I've lost quite a bit but with returning to school to pursue my master degree, work, husband and kids, some has crept back on. I want to be the mom who can play with her kids, I want to be the mom who can swim, run, kick a soccer ball, and jump on a trampoline with my kids. I want to be the wife that is strong, both mentally, physically, and spiritually to stand by her husband. I want to grow old with my husband  and live many years beside him.

I want to be a whole child of God. I'm reading Made to Crave by Lysa TerKeurst and it talks about we were made to crave God. However we fill ourselves up with other things like food. Everything is permissable, but not all things are beneficial.

Lysa points out that we are made for more than to be stuck in a vicious cycle of defeat. I AM MADE for more then to be stuck in a vicious cycle of defeat. "You have circled the mountain long enough, now turn north." Deut. 2:3

She discusses the manna from heaven and how God gave them just enough. What a thought to put toward portion control?!?! Maybe this whole diet thing won't work. Maybe what I need is a God factor to throw my mind into the right frame of reference.

I think 2011 should be the year I start really focusing on God and my relationship with him and allow Him to put the other things in my life in order.
