Today has been a Marvelous Monday...sort of.
Today was our first day back to work and school after a busy Spring Break. We are all tired after the fun we had in Houston over the past four days and the going..going...going.
I'm not going to focus on the fact I got a ticket today for an expired inspection sticker. Yes it went out in December, and no I haven't even thought about getting it renewed. Is it going to cost probably $170..arrgggg. Ok I'm done.
I'm going to focus on the fact that our baseball practices, t-ball practice, and Scouts was cancelled due to a large thunderstorm was moving through. This means that we got home at a decent hour and I got in my PJs by 6:30. I made homemade stroganoff, garlic bread, and corn and we watched Frozen planet.
I'm going to focus on the fact my son is transfixed on Frozen planet as we speak and I'm fixing to go get the chocolate chip cookies I made and I'm going to share with my family. I'm going to focus on the fact that my ticket reminded a dear friend her inspection is out on her car, so hope she can get it taken care of before she has a incident like mine. LOL
I'm going to focus on the feeling of being blessed to be healthy, and that I'll get to sleep in my own bed tonight with rain and the thunder (and no hail, please, Lord) I'm going to focus on my son hopping up in the chair next to me while watching the beautiful show Frozen Planet. He's so interested in the penguins since they just studied them in school.
Have a blessed week!!

Marvelous Monday
I'm going to say it was a Marvelous Monday...but it was a trying, tiring one at that. I'm going to keep a positive attitude although, this day has caused a lot of self reflection on my part.
1) Woke up late - which put all of us late. But it made me realize I need to re-evaluate things once again and try to get more done in the evenings.
2) It was a crazy Monday at work, but I kept a smile on my face and did my work.
3) I didn't really feel like it, but went to the gym and ran/walked 3 miles since I officially started training for a half marathon in 21 weeks. I felt like I had accomplished something when I walked out of there.
4) Crock pot roast turned out ok, but not as good as I would like it, so next time I need to do something differently, or get a different cut of meat.
5) Got some of my textbook read while sitting in a chair with my favorite girl.
6) Both kids in bed at a remotely decent hour.
7) Realized that I need to focus more on my family and my home, because besides the good Lord above, those are the most important things in my life, and I need to make sure I treat them that way.
8) Need to take time in the morning to have time with the Lord, because it helps me stay centered.
Well I better go so I can get some rest and do some homework...

Marvelous Monday
Hmmm I'm not sure if you'd call this a Marvelous Monday...
Babysitter called at 6am and she's in the ER with severe muscle spasms - she's actually got 4 ribs out of place. So guess I'm staying home with Miss E today. Told babysitter to take some muscle relaxers and rest. I have a few days of sick time so it's not too big of a deal. Feel bad because work's going to be busy tomorrow, but what can you do.
So I'm here with my baby girl - but need to get reading done for school - I'm playing catch up. We had so many chapters to read the first week (8 chapters in 3 different books in 2 classes) uggg! that I'm having behind and trying to catch up. So I'm in the bedroom while she plays gonna try and at least catch up on my reading and notes so I can be current.
I did have a great weekend. It was absolutely gorgeous weather here. Saturday we had a girls day and went and saw Tangled.

Loved, loved that movie! So gonna have to buy it when it comes out on DVD. Mom, Miss E, & I then went to the McDonald's and ate lunch while Miss E played on the playground, and then grocery, shopping and home. Yesterday we had a lazy day at home, well as lazy as it can be with cleaning, studying and laundry. We had all the windows open because it was an absolutely gorgeous day.
Ok - well my chapters aren't getting read playing on my blog. Soooo...back to studying with a little girl providing the background music with her jabbering in her room.
Happy Monday!!

Marvelous Monday
Well it's another Marvelous Monday. (I'm really not being sarcastic, promise. :)
I'm thankful on this marvelous monday I have just one more day before classes start tomorrow. It's going to be a wild semester. This is the first semester I'm taking two grad classes instead of just one. It's going to be an adjustment trying to get everything done.
I'm reading "Reshaping It All" by Candace Cameron Bure. She made a point during the book that to keep our priorities in line, we have to put God first and then the rest of your life will fall into place. I'm trying to follow this principle since my life is fixing to get more crazy. If I follow the Jesus lead and get up in the morning, get a workout in, (most of the music on my shuffle is praise & worship), then get ready for work, and spend time with God before my day gets going 90 mph, my day seems to flow more smoothly. Many times whatever my devotional covers seems to apply to something that happens that day, or something that happened the day before to get me thinking.
"Seek first [God's ] kingdom and his righteousness, and all things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33
“I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” Psalm 16:8
"So fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:18
So I'm going to try and follow this plan to see how it goes...I'll post on how well it's working in a few weeks.
