Weekend Wrap-up

Although this weekend was the first weekend in awhile we didn't have "anything" on the schedule per say, we were still plenty busy.

Saturday the hubby played Mr. Fix-it and fixed three lawn mowers, two for his family and ours, and then got several "honey-do's" around the house done. Then today we had church which was Boy Scout & Girl Scout Sunday and had lunch afterwards.   Homework is done although I have to start all over again this week. Only one more week and then spring break :)

In our Sunday School class we are reading a book called A Case For Christ. Although we've only just started it seems rather interesting.

Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was so much fun.

Friday night we didn't have to do anything..nada...did I mention nothing?? So we came home after school, made dinner, and spent some time at the house. I was in my pajamas at 8pm and I was so loving it. It was character dress up day at school and Mr Lwent as a Navy Seal. Here we are at the Pep Rally at school.

Saturday we woke up and took the boat to the mechanic. We stopped at a park and had a picnic. Went and saw Puss in Boots at the movie theater. Which I would recommend getting their early enough where your not wondering around a dark theater. We almost set in someone's lap. Whoops!! It was a really cute movie and we really enjoyed it.  Here is a picture of Mr. L and Miss E playing at the park.

We then drove to a nearby town where they have a business that has giant blow up slides, obstacle courses and  giant blow up trampoline. The kids had an absolute blast!! As did someone else I know...

Yes, Damon had a blast as well. We had a great day spent with the family.

Then today we all went to a church as a family.  We were joined by my bro-in-law, sis-in-law, her daughter, and grandson. It was so nice to have everyone there. We also had a special treat, a wonderful woman who recently moved to our town played the harp during the service. I've never heard a harp in real life, and it was absolutely beautiful. The message was wonderful and then we had a fellowship dinner afterward. All in all I had a wonderful weekend.

Weekend Wrap-up

This has been a quick - but great weekend.

Friday night we went to a meeting for some good food. Mr. L got invited to a sleep over and had a blast when I picked him up the next morning. The kids went to a birthday party. I spent the weekend typing notes and working on homework. Today we went a church to hear a friend of our's speak about mission work. It was a totally different format than our regular church. Our home church is more traditional, and although I do love our church and the people at our church. However, the more contemporary worship service breathes life into me like nothing else. Our friend's message was absolutely great. We also went out to eat afterwards with my spiritual mom, Elizabeth, and her family, our friends and kids. I enjoyed the fellowship as much as the food.

Well back to homework & housework before bed...

Weekend Wrap-Up

Well yesterday I put away laundry, schoolbooks, my homework, and packed a few things and went out for a night with the husband.

We left our small town for the big city. We went to Austin for the weekend. We drove down there Saturday afternoon and hung out at the outlet mall in Roundrock, bought some new tennis shoes for both me and Damon and walked around eating ice cream. Drove a little ways and came upon a Harley Dealership. My husband has always wanted a Harley. So we didn't have anywhere to be so we went in. We browsed bikes and a salesperson caught us outside. Now initially I though "OH NO!" now we are going to get pressured to buy, yada, yada, yada. But the gentleman was really nice. He showed us around the shop, through the parts house, let Damon sit on a Harley or two, and let us go without pressuring us to buy. We left there and went to our hotel.

We stayed at our hotel a few hours and then got cleaned up. We were going out to eat, now I'm not someone that has to go somewhere all fancy for a Valentine's day dinner. We went to Joe's Crab Shack...yup we are living large!! Then we made our way to Sixth street in downtown Austin. I've never been there, and my husband hit there with some friends from work when they were down there for a conference several months ago. We went into several little bars before settling into the Blue Moon with an awesome blues band playing. This gentleman was jamming on the harmonica and another guy could wail on a guitar. It was so much fun!! We stayed there for a couple of hours sipping on drinks and listening to music.

We then made our way back to the hotel and slept in this morning. But we got up and drove to Cabela's so my husband could look around. We stayed there a couple of hours looking at ammo, guns, the aquariaum (definately my favorite part), fishing lures, and etc. Then we drove and found something quick to eat, we tried to go to Sam Moon, but they were closed :(  And that was an experience because we drove by it twice before we could get in there. Then we stopped to buy groceries on the way home.

I can say I'm so happy with how the trip went. We blew through some money but it was money I had laid aside for this trip, and we didn't get to crazy. The blues band was absolutely worth going down to crowded Sixth Street, although people watching down there alone is worth going. And most importantly, I got to spend some quality one on one time with my hubby. I didn't take any magazines or books, it was just him and I, and a roadtrip. I think it did us some good to get away and be dating again. It was fun, I think we need to do it again in another month or so, but maybe send the kids to the babysitters for the night, and just get some movies, some steaks, and have a night in...hmmm maybe a tradition to start??

Weekend Wrap-Up

Our weekend was a whirlwind. We had a Christmas program for Mr. L Friday night. It was so much fun, and so cute!!

This was Mr L with two of his classmates reciting their lines from Twas the Night Before Christmas.

Then Saturday we  went about an hour away to a mall with Santa Claus. (Did I mention we are in the boonies??) My lovely mother went with me to help me corral the kiddos since hubby had to work. She also gave me an early Christmas present and bought me some clothes to wear to the hubby's Christmas party.  Here is the kiddos picture with Santa.

Sunday we went to church and then spent the weekend watching football and relaxing. I can't believe December is already here, and we have something planned every weekend of this month. It's gonna fly by!!

Weekend Wrap-Up

My weekend went by way to fast, and really wish I could have slowed it down just a bit.

Friday night I ran my usual errands and got home after grocery shopping and it was little to late to do anything. Kept up with our hometown play-off game via facebook, and we WON!! Oh yeah, bi-district champs! The s guy play next Saturday, and I so hope they win!!

Saturday Miss E woke me up early so I got my cleaning done earlier in the day and was able to relax a little bit before friends came over to eat. Saturday night was a great night. The kids played in their rooms so it was basically like an adult night out. We had an absolute blast.

Sunday was spent doing homework and going to church. We had a meal catered by a great bbq place in a nearby town. It was absolutely AWESOME food.  Then went to a friend of mines' step daughter's baby shower, (are you confused yet). I believe I'm officially getting on up in years (not that there is anything bad with that). I say that because 1) it's no longer a whole lot of women my age having babies, it is those who are younger, 2) There was a girl there that her mother was pregnant with her when we graduated high school. She looked exactly like her momma and was a teenager. Yup, it's official, I'm an adult :)  After I got home, worked on homework and watched the COWBOYS WIN BABY!!! Love it!!

Praying for many blessings for everyone for this week.  Remember to respect your boundaries and turn to the Lord for everything.
